Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio) said Tuesday that he will seek a House ethics investigation into his own conduct as he faces allegations of domestic violence from his ex-wife.

“I am going to file my own paperwork for an ethics investigation into myself to clear my name from these horrific attacks on myself and family,” Miller wrote on X. “I have absolutely nothing to hide. We will be providing the committee all necessary documents needed for a detail examination.”
Emily Moreno, Miller’s ex-wife, has accused the congressman of physically hurting her and their 2-year-old daughter. Miller has long denied the allegations.

Miller, who has been in the House since 2023, has said he will not drop his reelection bid. On Tuesday, he said he is “looking forward” to having his House colleagues review his case.
Moreno’s father, Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio), said Sunday that Miller is not fit to be in Congress. Democrats have also called on the congressman to withdraw from his reelection race.
