He didn\u2019t allow a hit until the fifth, and yielded only two runs and five hits while striking out nine.<\/p>\n<p>The same couldn\u2019t be said for Miami\u2019s Tyler Phillips, who gave up all three homers to his former teammates and a two-run triple to Bryson Stott. Phillips (1-2) permitted eight runs on six hits and three walks in four innings.<\/p>\n<p>Marsh hit his ninth home run of the season, a two-run shot, to expand the Phillies\u2019 lead to 5-0 in the second. It was his fourth consecutive game at Citizens Bank Park with a home run.<\/p>\n<p>Bohm, who had an RBI single as well, also hit his ninth homer of the season, crushing a 2-0 sinker from Phillips 447 feet into the left-center seats.<\/p>\n<p>NATIONALS 6, ROYALS 4<\/p>\n<p>WASHINGTON \u2014 Curtis Mead hit a tiebreaking three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Washington to a win over Kansas City.<\/p>\n<p>Nasim Nu\u00f1ez tripled twice and scored three times for the Nationals, who will go for a three-game sweep Wednesday after handing Kansas City its sixth loss in seven games. The Royals are a season-high 16 games under .500.<\/p>\n<p>Paxton Schultz (1-2) got the win in relief, and Gus Varland pitched the ninth \u2014 allowing a solo homer by ex-National Lane Thomas \u2014 for his sixth save. Daniel Lynch IV (2-1) took the loss.<\/p>\n<p>Nationals starter Foster Griffin allowed a run and six hits in six innings with two walks and six strikeouts. A first-round draft pick of Kansas City\u2019s a dozen years ago, Griffin has allowed one run or fewer in four of his last five outings.<\/p>\n<p>BLUE JAYS 6, RED SOX 1<\/p>\n<p>BOSTON \u2014 Davis Schneider and Andr\u00e9s Gim\u00e9nez hit back-to-back home runs, Dylan Cease pitched five shutout innings and Toronto beat Boston.<\/p>\n<p>George Springer added a two-run homer, the 300th of his career, and knocked in three. Schneider\u2019s drive off rookie Payton Tolle (3-4) cleared the Green Monster, and Gim\u00e9nez followed with a shot that put Toronto up 3-0 in the fifth. It marked the first time the Blue Jays went back-to-back this season.<\/p>\n<p>Schneider also had an RBI double in the sixth inning. Louis Varland got four outs for his 13th save.<\/p>\n<p>YANKEES 12, WHITE SOX 2<\/p>\n<p>NEW YORK \u2014 Spencer Jones hit his first Yankee Stadium home run in the second inning, Ben Rice and Paul Goldschmidt each added a two-run drive in the fourth, and New York rocked Davis Martin in a victory over Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>Gerrit Cole (2-1) allowed two runs and three hits in six innings as the Yankees improved to 8-4 since losing slugger Aaron Judge indefinitely to a stress fracture in his right rib.<\/p>\n<p>Jones reached the second deck in right field for a tying shot off Martin (9-3) and his second career homer. The rookie also walked with the bases loaded during a four-run third after Martin lost an ABS challenge.<\/p>\n<p>Rice hit his 20th homer to give the Yankees a 7-1 lead when he hammered Martin\u2019s 2-1 curveball into the right-field seats. The first baseman joined Houston\u2019s Yordan Alvarez, Minnesota\u2019s Byron Buxton and injured White Sox rookie Munetaka Murakami among American League players with 20 homers.<\/p>\n<p>REDS 5, METS 3<\/p>\n<p>CINCINNATI \u2014 Sal Stewart hit a three-run homer and Spencer Steer added a solo shot during a four-run first inning as Cincinnati defeated New York.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Vientos had a two-run homer in the sixth for New York, his first career pinch-hit home run.<\/p>\n<p>Mets right-hander Kodai Senga, reinstated from the injured list before the game, allowed four earned runs in four innings with four walks and five strikeouts in his first start since April 26.<\/p>\n<p>The Mets brought the potential tying run to the plate in the ninth but Tony Santillan got A.J. Ewing to ground out for his fourth save.<\/p>\n<p>BREWERS 2, GUARDIANS 1<\/p>\n<p>MILWAUKEE \u2014 Garrett Mitchell hit a solo homer in the seventh inning to lift Milwaukee to a victory over Cleveland.<\/p>\n<p>After the Guardians tied it 1-all in the seventh, Hunter Gaddis (1-2) relieved and Mitchell opened the bottom half of the inning with his fifth homer, sending a 2-1 pitch 440 feet to center.<\/p>\n<p>After being held to three hits through six scoreless innings, the Guardians tied it with a run off Aaron Ashby (10-0). Stuart Fairchild walked with one out, advanced on a wild pitch, and came home on Gabriel Arias\u2019 two-out single.<\/p>\n<p>Abner Uribe tossed a scoreless eighth, stranding a runner at third, and Trevor Megill completed the combined four-hitter with a perfect ninth for his ninth save in 11 opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Brice Turang snapped a scoreless tie in the fourth with his 11th homer, a two-out solo shot off Slade Cecconi for a 1-0 Milwaukee lead.<\/p>\n<p>CARDINALS 3, PADRES 2<\/p>\n<p>ST. LOUIS \u2014 Andre Pallante threw seven strong innings, Blaze Jordan hit an RBI double and Nathan Church added an RBI single as St. Louis beat San Diego.<\/p>\n<p>Pallante (8-4) struck out six while giving up two runs on four hits, and Riley O\u2019Brien earned his 18th save.<\/p>\n<p>Lars Nootbaar opened the second inning with a walk before he scored on Jordan\u2019s first double of the season. Four Rockies relievers combined to hold the Cubs scoreless over the final seven innings, with Blas Casta\u00f1o (1-0) recording the win and Jaden Hill pitching the ninth for his first career save.<\/p>\n<p>Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/pete-crowarmstrong-cycle-cubs-rockies-2cbacd6a8fbb918fc11ca9aab318d113\">who hit for the cycle Monday<\/a> , led off with a home run for the second straight game. Crow-Armstrong has reached base in 20 straight games, hitting safely in 19 of them.<\/p>\n<p>TWINS 12, RANGERS 2<\/p>\n<p>ARLINGTON, Texas \u2014 Trevor Larnach led off the game with a home run, Kody Clemens added a three-run shot, and Minnesota clinched another series in Texas with an win over the Rangers.<\/p>\n<p>Larnach drove the game\u2019s second pitch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/video\/kumar-rocker-in-play-run-s-to-trevor-larnach-mswjyo?partnerId=web_multimedia-search_video-share\">425 feet deep into the right-field seats<\/a> . The 10 leadoff homers allowed by the Rangers this season are twice as many as any other team.<\/p>\n<p>Clemens\u2019 11th homer made it 5-0 in the third. Josh Bell, who was born in nearby Irving and grew up in the area, had two hits and two RBIs.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota right-hander Zebby Matthews (3-4) struck out four without a walk in seven innings. He allowed both Texas runs and threw 68 of 93 pitches for strikes.<\/p>\n<p>The Twins <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/rangers-twins-score-ed0d8bea16f42ef73076e2278562ce0e\">have won the first two in this three-game set<\/a> for their fourth consecutive series win at Texas. Their 13-5 record at Globe Life Field is the best by any opposing American League team since the ballpark opened in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>ASTROS 4 TIGERS 2<\/p>\n<p>HOUSTON \u2014 Raynel Delgado drove in two runs in the eighth inning in his second major league game to help lift Houston to a win over Detroit.<\/p>\n<p>With Houston down 2-1, Delgado hit a single to center field that sent Yainer Diaz and Cam Smith home.<\/p>\n<p>The Astros added another run later in the inning, after Joey Loperfido ran home on Jeremy Pe\u00f1a\u2019s groundout to first. Starting pitcher Hunter Brown also returned from the injured list after sustaining a shoulder strain in April. Brown pitched 5 2\/3 innings, striking out seven. He gave up three hits and walked three, and gave up a run.<\/p>\n<p>Bryan King (2-1) pitched the eighth inning, throwing 11 pitches, seven of them strikes. He walked one and gave up a run. Josh Hader earned his third save of the season, striking out Jake Rogers to end the game.<\/p>\n<p>ANGELS 7, DIAMONDBACKS 0<\/p>\n<p>PHOENIX \u2014 Mike Trout hit a two-run home run and an RBI double forLos Angeles in a shutout of Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>Trout\u2019s 436-foot two-run shot to center came in the fifth inning and gave the Angels a 5-0 lead, and his sixth-inning double drove in Denzer Guzman.<\/p>\n<p>Reid Detmers (3-5) worked seven innings for the Halos, allowing no runs on three hits and striking out three. He has allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his last five outings and nine of his last 10.<\/p>\n<p>Wade Meckler hit an RBI single in the second to get the Halos on the board first, followed by a solo home run by Zach Neto in the third. Donovan Walton hit an RBI single in the fourth and a ground-rule double in the eighth to bring Logan O\u2019Hoppe across.<\/p>\n<p>The Angels combined for 14 hits, paced by O\u2019Hoppe\u2019s 3-for-4 night.<\/p>\n<p>Kirby Yates and Chase Silseth combined for two scoreless innings of relief to close out the game.<\/p>\n<p>MARINERS 3, ORIOLES 1<\/p>\n<p>SEATTLE \u2014 Cal Raleigh hit a two-run single in <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/mariners-raleigh-crawford-arozarena-68fbe694cc7189fd48b0ea0cefc088b4\">his return from the injured list,<\/a> Logan Gilbert struck out a season-high 10 in seven strong innings and Seattle beat Baltimore.<\/p>\n<p>Julio Rodr\u00edguez had an RBI single for the Mariners, who hold a slim lead in the AL West. Gilbert (5-4) combined with two relievers on a three-hitter.<\/p>\n<p>Raleigh, last year\u2019s AL MVP runner-up who had been out since May 14 because of an oblique strain, broke a 1-all tie in the seventh. Batting from the right side against reliever Grant Wolfram with the bases loaded and one out, the switch-hitter sent a line drive to center field that scored Victor Robles and Colt Emerson.<\/p>\n<p>Eduard Bazardo pitched a perfect eighth and Andr\u00e9s Mu\u00f1oz worked a one-hit ninth for his 11th save.<\/p>\n<p>DODGERS 1, RAYS 0<\/p>\n<p>LOS ANGELES \u2014 Shohei Ohtani hit his 15th home run of the season and Justin Wrobleski threw six innings to lead Los Angeles to a win over Tampa.<\/p>\n<p>Ohtani hit a first-pitch solo home run off Drew Rasmussen in the sixth inning to break a scoreless game.<\/p>\n<p>The home run to center field was just the cushion the left-handed Wrobleski (8-2) needed. Wrobleski allowed just three hits, stuck out five and walked none.<\/p>\n<p>Tanner Scott earned his ninth save of the season after retiring the side in the ninth.<\/p>\n<p>Rasmussen (6-3) pitched well, too, with his only blemish being the Ohtani home run. Rasmussen threw seven innings and allowed one run on six hits. He struck out seven.<\/p>\n<p>PIRATES 6, ATHLETICS 5<\/p>\n<p>WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2014 Brandon Lowe hit a tiebreaking homer in the ninth inning, Bryan Reynolds went deep from both sides of the plate and Pittsburgh rallied from an early four-run deficit to beat the Athletics.<\/p>\n<p>Reynolds finished with four hits, three RBIs and three runs scored.
