President Donald Trump gave a prime-time address on election security that the White House said would contain major revelations, but stopped short of adopting the most incendiary claims made by his supporters.<\/p>

His speech, GOP allies and administration officials said, would present bombshell findings from an exhaustive reexamination of law enforcement and intelligence files, but Trump never claimed to have any evidence of altered votes or compromised machines.<\/p>\n

Instead, he described \u201cvulnerabilities\u201d in election infrastructure, without alleging that the weaknesses were exploited.<\/p>

Democrats <\/b>warned in advance <\/b>that Trump would make false and misleading allegations, and some Republicans hoped he would focus on other priorities.<\/p>\n

The speech marked the president\u2019s latest effort to deny his 2020 election loss and rally support for stricter voter ID and citizenship rules.<\/p>
