Sen. Darline Graham (R-South Carolina) said Monday that she will seek a full six-year Senate term after President Donald Trump urged her to run.<\/p>

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) appointed Graham last week to succeed her brother, Lindsey Graham, who died July 11<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Trump on Friday encouraged Darline Graham<\/a> to run for a full term after initially saying he did not expect her to run \u2014 and Graham said Monday that she\u2019s in.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I can do it,\u201d she told<\/a> Fox News\u2019s Sean Hannity. \u201cI feel an inner peace about it. Will it be difficult? Yes, absolutely.\u201d<\/p>

Graham will face a competitive Republican primary in South Carolina despite Trump\u2019s endorsement. Reps. Russell Fry and Ralph Norman have also said they will run in the Aug. 11 primary.<\/p>\n

The filing period opens Tuesday. The primary will go to a runoff Aug. 25 if no candidate wins a majority of the vote Aug. 11.<\/p>
