During a contentious interview with CNN on Tuesday night, Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio) \u2014 who is facing allegations that he abused his ex-wife and toddler daughter \u2014 said Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) has his back.<\/p>

Speaking to Politico after the CNN interview, Johnson said he actually hasn\u2019t spoken to Miller in the past few days about the allegations, which Miller strenuously denies.<\/p>\n

Neither Johnson nor President Donald Trump have publicly called on Miller to resign, even though his ex-father-in-law \u2014 Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) \u2014 has said Miller is not fit to be in the House.<\/p>\n

Johnson told Politico it is \u201cnot my business\u201d to get involved in Miller\u2019s family matters and that the House Ethics Committee \u2014 which announced an investigation into Miller on Tuesday \u2014 will look into the allegations.<\/p>

Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Florida), the chairwoman of the House Republican Caucus, said in a statement to The Washington Post that the allegations against Miller are \u201cdeeply troubling\u201d and that they deserve a \u201cfair, thorough review.\u201d She did not call for Miller to resign, saying instead that she respects the Ethics Committee\u2019s process.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue process is not optional \u2014 it is how the truth is established and justice is served,\u201d Cammack said.<\/p>\n
