The extreme heat in Nashville produced some unusual scenes during the Eagles’ 24-20 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The Fox broadcast reported that the temperature of the artificial turf at Nissan Stadium reached 157 degrees during the third quarter.
The game came near the end of a prolonged heat wave across Middle Tennessee, where a heat dome had sent temperatures soaring during what is normally the beginning of fall.
“It was hot as s—,” Sirianni said at his postgame news conference. “I didn’t play a snap, and I had to get an IV.”
Eagles guard Cam Jurgens told reporters after the game that he went through multiple pairs of cleats as the heat radiated off the field. His feet, he said, were “burning. Still hurting.”

Eagles tackle Jordan Mailata told reporters after the game that he initially had been skeptical when he heard about the Titans’ problems with their cleats a week earlier.
“Then we came out here; I was like, ‘I can see why they melted,’” Mailata said. “It’s like a very deceiving, very deceiving heat out there.”
