Trump wants the Supreme Court to reverse its ruling upholding birthright citizenship

President Donald Trump said in a social media post the Supreme Court’s ruling upholding birthright citizenship is “absolutely insane” and that he’ll ask the court to reverse it.

The high court struck down Trump’s order denying birthright citizenship to those in the country illegally or temporarily in one of the major cases of the term that ended last month.

“I will be asking for a Rehearing by the United States Supreme Court, IMMEDIATELY. This miscarriage of justice will destroy America if they don’t change their absolutely insane decision,” Trump wrote Wednesday on Truth Social.

Trump is unlikely to get the justices to take up the case again, as the high court rarely grants rehearings. The last time the court agreed to do so was in 1965, according to Georgetown law professor Steve Vladeck.
