Congress will honor the late senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) at a ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda next week, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-South Dakota) announced Tuesday.

“As we say our final goodbyes, it seems fitting for his friends and colleagues to give back to him through this special Capitol honor,” Thune said in a statement.
The ceremony will take place July 28. Graham’s casket will then be taken to Washington National Cathedral for his funeral that afternoon. President Donald Trump will speak at the service, according to Graham’s sister, Sen. Darline Graham (R-South Carolina).

Graham’s casket will be flown to South Carolina that evening. There will be a funeral procession on July 29 from the South Carolina State House to First Baptist Church of Columbia, where a second funeral will be held. Graham will be buried in a private ceremony in Pickens County, where he was born.
