Former Homeland Security secretary Kristi L. Noem filed for divorce from her husband, according to court records, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Noem submitted the filing in Hamlin County, South Dakota, in April. The filing was not made public until recently and was earlier reported by the New York Post.
Noem and Bryon Noem married in 1992 and had three children together, according to the filing.
President Donald Trump removed Noem from the head job at DHS in March after a controversial stint. The Post has previously reported that Trump had told advisers he had grown increasingly unhappy with Noem after DHS’s surge of immigration enforcement officers in Minnesota in December and January, an escalation that resulted in officers fatally shooting two U.S. citizens.

He appointed Markwayne Mullin to take her place.
Noem did not immediately respond to a request for comment through a representative.
