Trump team expands midterms spending to $57 million so far

The operation’s long-awaited spree fortified competitive House races.

More reinforcements that Republicans have eagerly anticipated from President Donald Trump’s war chest arrived Thursday with additional spending in House and Senate races, bringing the total so far to $57 million.

The Trump-affiliated No Going Back PAC bought airtime in Iowa’s Senate race, supporting Rep. Ashley Hinson (R) in her contest with Paralympian Josh Turek. The group also added money to Senate races in New Hampshire, Alaska, North Carolina and Georgia, according to data from media tracker AdImpact. On Wednesday the PAC booked ads in Ohio and Michigan.

On Wednesday the PAC put almost $1 million into Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District, where Trump ally Rep. Scott Perry (R) is in a toss-up race against Democrat Janelle Stelson.

Trump said last week he could spend up to $500 million on the midterms and still reserve money for 2028 or other purposes. Republicans had expressed anxiety that Trump was withholding money until after Labor Day.
