House Republicans on Wednesday released the framework for a $95 billion package to fund the Pentagon and send aid to farmers.
The so-called budget resolution outlines the overall spending levels for Republicans’ third reconciliation package this Congress, which they could pass in both chambers without Democratic support. However, they need nearly all Republicans to pass the measure.
The resolution includes $60 billion for the Armed Services Committee and $13 billion for the Intelligence Committee, as Republicans want to send money to the Pentagon for costs related to the Iran war. It also includes $12 billion for the Agriculture Committee, which could allow the GOP to provide aid to farmers.
The resolution also outlines $10 billion for the Administration Committee, which could be used toward election-related measures as Republicans seek ways to implement elements of the Save America Act.

Fiscal hawks have been demanding that any new spending be offset with budget cuts, to avoid exacerbating fiscal deficits even more. They have suggested broad cuts to social programs, but the budget resolution leaves no avenue for that.
The Budget Committee will hold its markup on the resolution Thursday. House leadership hopes to have the resolution passed on the floor next week.
